# Qualifiers

> Decide which customers and carts get the discount.

Qualifiers restrict when a discount applies. There are two kinds: customer qualifiers and cart qualifiers.

## Customer qualifiers

| Qualifier | Input mode |

| Customer total spent | Standard |
| Customer login state | Standard |
| Customer tags | Advance |
| Multi-select (meets condition) | Standard and advance |

## Cart qualifiers

| Cart has only items | Standard and advance |

| Cart total weight | Standard |

| Cheapest / most expensive product | Advance |
| Multi-select (meets condition) | Standard and advance |

## Qualifier behavior

When you add more than one condition, **qualifier behavior** decides how they combine:

* **And**: every condition must pass.
* **Or**: any one condition is enough.

> BXGY and BOGO campaigns do not show the cart qualifier or qualifier behavior. The buy-side selection already defines what must be in the cart.

## Accept or reject discount codes

Each campaign can optionally list discount codes to **accept** or **reject** while it applies, with a message shown to the customer when a rejected code is entered.
